TON Model installed at Gunwharf Quay
Complimenting the several memorials on the former site of HMS VERNON to the variety of underwater warfare activities taught there ; the divers statue, torpedo and mines, a model of a TON Class Minehunter, HMS BOSSINGTON, was installed in the Customs House at Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth on 14th March.
The model, originally constructed by TCA member Gerald Tormey as a radio-controlled model, had been extensively refurbished over a 5-month period by TCA Vice Chair Sam Cook. (far right in the photos below).

The model was “unveiled” by TCA President Rear Admiral John Lippiett CB, CBE, DL (second left in the photo below) with a Blessing given by Rev Trevor Filtness, TCA Chaplain (far left in the photo), with Adrian Leggat (formerly a Royal Marine) Gunwharf Quay General Manager (second right) and Delfina.Remeikyle, Custom House Manager, in attendance.

Blessing - for those in peril on the sea ...
